Technical Workshop: Overcoming testing challenges of the evolving grid

Thursday, 19 September 2024

Venue: Gold Room, L’Aqua, Dockside, Darling Harbour, Sydney, Australia
L’Aqua is located on the rooftop level of the same venue APS will be held the previous two days

The power system is undergoing significant changes. At the grid level, Inverter Based Resources (IBR) are replacing conventional rotating plant generation. In substations, traditional copper wiring is being replaced by networking solutions through the application of the IEC 61850 standard. New protection and control (PAC) devices and applications are being developed and deployed on these networks, necessitating updated tools and procedures to thoroughly test their functionalities.

Join us for this 1-Day workshop where we will address these concerns with the following presentation topics:

  1. System-Based Testing Overview
  2. Insights Into an Inverter Controller
  3. CVT Frequency Response for PQ Measurement
  4. From terminal to control centre – Automated (Closed Loop) SAS Testing
  5. Vulnerability Management in power grid + Cyber attacks

The event will be held after the Australian Protection Symposium. As an APS attendee, you can enjoy a 50% discount on the Technical Workshop. You are also welcome to register for only the technical workshop if you wish to do so.
